The groups of Mooste Manor’s buildings are centuries old and form the most wholistically preserved manor complex in Estonia. Nevertheless, the perls of the complex are the manse (the main building of a manor), the vodka destillery (the photo on the left!) and the spectacular shore of Mooste lake. The line of the historic cottages, barns, store houses and stables lies on the southern shore of the lake and forms beautiful ensembles.

The owners of the manor were the well known aristocratic family of Nolkens.

In 1905 the Nolkens ordered the project of the main building from the respected architect August Reinberg from Riga.

In 1920 the government of Estonia nationalized the manor and opened a public school there. The Mooste primary school is still working and keeps carrying the heritage of Mooste and the Nolkens on to the new generations.
